The coolant temperature sensor on a 2005 Dodge Neon is located on the cylinder head. It is close to the camshaft position sensor.
It tells the computer the rotational position of the camshaft.
Rear camshaft seal bad. Replace. located behind cam sensor.
The camshaft position sensor on the Neon 4 cylinder is located at the driver's side of the head in line with the camshafts, just below the valve cover
The cam sensor is on the driver side of the cylinder head.
2006 was the last Neon. The cam sensor was located on the driver side end of the cylinder head.
Trouble code P0340 means: Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit (Bank 1 or single sensor) Tap the sensor with a hammer. If the engine stops then starts again, replace the sensor.
