The 91 model did not have are use a crankshaft sensor. If it is not firing. Then you probley have a bad ingniton module. Are the pick-up coil is bad, Both of these items are in the distributor under the rotor button and can be replaced.
I would also check the coil. That is bolted on the back top side of the intake manifold.
No crank sensor, only the sensor in the distributor.
The VSS is located in the top left hand side of the transfer case.

1991 probably doesn't have a crank sensor, it probably has a reference in the distributor.
A 1991 doesn't have a crank sensor, it only has a distributor pick up plate(cam sensor)
