Where is the crank sensor on a 1991 2.2L cavalier?
Below the Coil Assemblies (where the plug wires go). You can only see it from under the vehicle. Don't confuse with the vehicle speed sensor. The Crank Sensor wire harness (2 wires) plugs into the Direct Ignition System module (behind the coils)

Did you load it with .22L (Long) or .22 LR (Long Rifle)? As long as the bolt opens rearward or can be removed, you should be able to safely remove the cartridge by gently running a cleaning rod down the barrel to push it out the breach. If the bolt will not open at all now, do not try to force it...take it to a gun shop/gun smith.
On a '99 S-10 2.2, the camshaft position sensor is located on the passenger side of the engine block, about halfway back. my cavalier did the same thing and it was a timing issue THIS MODEL IS WELL KNOWN FOR DOING THIS. CHECK YOUR FUEL INJECTORS THEY CRACK REAL EASY.
