The crank shaft sensor on a 1998 BMW 74Oil is located down near the crank on the front of a motor. It is super easy to replace but sometimes reaching the harness wire is a little bit difficult.
the crank sensor is located just behind the crank shaft pully of the engine.
A crank shaft position sensor on a 1998 Honda Accord reads whether or not a the engine is spinning correctly. If there is a discrepancy on how the crankshaft is spinning the sensor will relay it to the ECU.

The crank sensor is located on the bottom of the timing cover under the right hand side of the water pump by the crankshaft pulley.
New crank shaft or new crankshaft position sensor? If not crank sensor then replce it If new crankshaft probably the wrong one for the year and the notches are off...need more info
There are four under the intake manifold
It's on the inside of the Harmonic Balancer Pully. It shoud be blue in color
A) On a 2.0L & 2.5L DOHC (1999 & earlier) Engines, The crank shaft sensor is mounted above the oil filter. B) On 2.4L DOHC ( 2001 & later) engines, the crankshaft sensor is mounted on the rear side of the engine block C) On 2.5L V6 engines, the crank shaft is mounted under the distributor near the transaxle housing.
