On my ( 1995 ) Ford Explorer XLT the power door lock relays ( 3 relays ) are in with the tire jack , behind the removable plastic panel on the drivers side of the cargo area . I assume your 2000 would be the same . There are ( 3 ) relays : - all door lock - all door unlock - drivers door unlock
Aux Relay Box #4 is in the rear driver's side removable panel with the tire jack. This Relay box holds the Door Lock / Unlock relays (ice cube type). It also holds the Driver Door Unlock Relay and the ACC Lights Relay (rectangular relays).
by putting in the code
In my owner's manual for my 1995 XLT it shows a Body Compartment relay module # 5 around or in the jack storage compartment area. It shows relays for door unlock, door lock, driver door unlock, interior lamp relay, and trailer park lamps.
you can lock the driver side door on my 2001 ford explorer sport but it wont unlock with key nor key pad you have to go through passanger door
Use your key to unlock the door.
Press the 3/4 button within 5 seconds of unlocking the drivers door with the keypad and all other doors and the liftgate will unlock ( at least that's the way it is on my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT )
If you are referring to your power door lock on the driver's door, I know that on my 1995 Explorer XLT, in the jack storage compartment there are relays for driver door unlock/all door unlock/all door lock/ and two more relays for interior lamps and trailer park lamps.
No, the door on a 1998 Ford Explorer will not fit a 1992 Ford Explorer.
Start by checking the 25 amp fuse in location # 18 of your fuse panel (located on the driver's end of the dash - visible with the driver's door open.) This fuse is for the driver's door unlock relay, all unlock relay, and all lock relay. I'm not sure if the relays are located in the jack storage compartment like my 1995 XLT, but if nothing works it's most likely the fuse.
Does it not have a key lock by the front door handle ( that's what I did on my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT when the battery was dead )
If you are able to unlock the doors but not lock them I would suspect the " door lock " relay located in the jack storage compartment . There are relays for door unlock / door lock / interior lamps / driver door unlock / and trailer park lamps in the relay box. The door lock relay is one of the larger relays , located in the bottom left position ( looking at the picture ) good luck !
