On the left side of the bike (as you are sitting on) behind the triangle shaped cover there is a 3/4 inch oil line that comes from the oil tank and terminates at a dummy plug held in place by a spring clamp. Using a hose clamp pliers, slide clamp back and pull line free. Direct hose downward to a waste oil container and drain oil, Be sure to remove oil filler cap (under seat) as this will aid in the oil flow as it drains. Another trick is leave oil filter off, replace oil drain line back on dummy plug replace clamp and fill oil reservoir. Leave oil filter off, place shallow pan beneath the spot where oil filter mounts and start bike. Watch oil as it flows from where oil filter mounts into shallow pan waiting till oil runs clean, (approx a minute) flushing out all black dirty oil from lines and engine ensuring 100 percent clean oil!! Shut off bike, clean any oil spills, attach new oil filter, fill oil reservoir to proper level and you're done! Reassemble and it's riding time!! Hope this helps!
This diagram is located in the harley Davidson service manual
