It is located under the truck near the tank.
The EVAP vent valve/control solenoid is mounted on a bracket by the fuel tank. The EAVP purge valve/control solenoid is mounted on the front top of the intake manifold. Just behind the area where the throttle housing bolts to the front of the intake. It has an electric wires connected to it.
they are both located behind the front right corner of the bumper. there is the purge valve, vent solenoid, and charcoal canister all next to each other.
You will see a three inch canister behind the fuel tank mounted to the frame. It has an electrical connector and a hose(about the size of a cigar)...slides out of connector@frame.
The purge unit is located at the condenser.
Rear passengerside near the rear axle are passenger rear tire.
The purge valve is on the intake passenger side of the throttle body. The vent solenoid should be on a cross member right behind the gas tank or somewhere in the general area (should have a red plug)
The evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister purge solenoid on a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with a 4.8 liter engine is located behind the throttle body, near the front of the engine. I have a picture of it that I could send to your email if you want.
It is mounted up under the truck right next to the gas tank, in front of it.
Everywhere. Why? It starts (or ends) in the engine compartment, and ends (or starts) at the fuel tank. There are many different components to the evaporative emissions systems, especially on newer vehicles. Vent and purge solenoids, vapor canister, and lines going every-which way.
