The 1997 Nissan Pathfinder does not have a schrader valve. If you want to test the fuel pressure system (fuel pump, lines, pressure regulator) you have to insert a 'T' in the fuel line under the hood and connect a fuel pressure gauge to the 'T'.
Fuel Soundtrack was created in 1997.
The computer that control ignition/ fuel injection, Variable valve timing, cylinder deactivation, etc.
Try replacing the fuel pump relay in the PDB box in the engine compartment. Good luck.
An engine that is performing at peak efficiency will burn all the fuel in the combustion chamber during the combustion process. An engine that is not performing properly, that is not burning all the fuel, will allow unburned or excess fuel to enter the exhaust system. When this excess or unburned fuel contacts the hot core of the converter it will ignite. This constant infusion of unburned fuel will cause temperatures to continuously rise above the designed operating temperature until the core of the catalytic converter will actually melt. Possible causes for the excess fuel entering the exhaust system are an incorrect fuel mixture, incorrect timing, corroded spark plugs, worn and cracked ignition wires, improper fuel pressure, a faulty oxygen sensor, sticking float, faulty fuel injector or a malfunctioning check valve. http://www.all-catalytic-converters.com/techtip3.html
If it sputters before it stalls out, then feels like theres no fuel, the reason would be that its getting air in the fuel injection to find out if this is the case. Look on your fuel injector rail theres a shrader valve(looks like a bicycle cap and under the cap is an air valve like on a bike tire)just open the valve by depressing the center slightly in MAKE SURE ENGINE IS NOT RUNNING AND YOUR WEARING SAFETY GOGGLES WHEN DOING THIS as fuel will spurt out while you do this. The best time to try this is when it shuts down while driving you will want to change out the fuel filter if this is the problem and that should solve it.
If the fuel rail does not have a Schrader valve, you will need an adapter to put in the line.If the fuel rail does not have a Schrader valve, you will need an adapter to put in the line.
On the fuel rail there is a cap and under it is a schrader valve. Depress the schrader valve.
Where can I locate the fuel filter on a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder?
Press schrader valve. If no fuel is there check fuse,
If there isn't a schrader valve on the fuel rail to attach to, you will need an adapter to plug into the fuel line.If there isn't a schrader valve on the fuel rail to attach to, you will need an adapter to plug into the fuel line.
were is the Schrader vale located
SCHRADER VALVE Definition: A type of valve fitting that opens when depressed. Schrader valves are used in tire valve stems, on air conditioning hoses and on the fuel rails of many fuel injection systems. http://autorepair.about.com/cs/generalinfo/l/bldef_724a.htm
Schrader valve on fuel rail.
1. you should be able to hear it running 2. there is a schrader valve on the fuel rail, connect a fuel pressure meter to it and check your fuel pressure.
With a fuel pressure gauge connected to the Schrader valve on the fuel rail.
After you remove the air filter cover, you can see the schrader valve. It looks just like the valve that you put air in on your tires.
A Schrader valve is the same type of valve you use to fill your car or bike tires with. On the fuel line of a car it is used to release the fuel pressure from the lines so you can safely change the fuel lines, pump, or filters. I am not Sure if it is different on different years but the schrader valve on my 1986 Ford F150 with the 302 Fuel Injection is on the fuel rail just behind the distributor cap it my have it may or my not have a black cap on it.
