there are several different places it could be, some places to check are fuse clusters located under the dash by the brake pedal, under the hood by the battery or close to the firewall and maybe on the end of the dash where the door and dash meet.
Removing the fuse will be the easiest way to bypass the 1998 VW Jetta factory alarm system. The alarm fuse location can be found on the inside cover of the fuse box.
on my 97 jetta (same model) just open the trunk with your key and then close it
Pull out the Fuse for alarm system.
Insert key into driver door and turn to the unlock position. This should turn off the alarm.
i have a 96 jetta and i looked at the fuse box and found the horn fuse and it was blown changed the fuse and the horn worksso i would look at the fuse box find your horn fuse and see if its blown change it out with the same amp fuse and push the horn button that might fix your problem
Yes, pull the fuse.
The fuse box is located by your knees in the drivers seat, open the panel and it will have the specif fuse listed by number on the panel flap.
If you just want to shut off the alarm pull the wire off the sensor at the oil filter housing and ground it to the engine, this will silence the alarm but not fix your oil pressure issue.
The alarm should turn off once you start the car. If the alarm is going off while you are driving, pull over and remove the fuse.
The 1996 VW Jetta fan relay is located under the hood on the drivers side. The legend is located in the top cover of the fuse center.
96 VW jetta the engine rotatas but will not start
you want to put the key in the start (AC) pos. and then put the + side of the bat on and then turn the key of and the alarm should not go on
