You will need to remove the screws in the door. They are located in the door handle, the door latch and at the very bottom of the panel. Once you remove the three screws pull the panel and it will pop out.

i guess the first question is --does the 1998 have the power option on dash. If so then you should be able to just plug them up, but possibly Kia changed the wiring plug between the model years,then you will need a schematic.
