The module is part of the switch
I also have a 2002 Chevy Malibu that had the weird blinker issue. Last year I checked it out and found it was a recall. You should be able to have it fixed for free. Mine was fixed last spring and I haven't had any problem since.
The 2004 Ford Ranger pickup truck signal hazard flasher unit can be found beneath the drivers side dashboard. The signal hazard flasher unit will be above the brake pedal.
Its in the emergency flasher switch. Mounted in the dash.
Both the hazard flasher unit and the turn signal flasher unit are in the main fuse box and are identified
Have solved the problem. Hazard and turn flasher are one and the same unit.
The flasher is part of the hazard switch and they are replaced as a unit. Remove the trim piece from the dash. This is attached with screws in some places and press fit in others. Once the trim is loose it is a simple matter to replace the switch.
Inside the hazard switch.
If you turn/hazard lights don't work, or work when they want to, even if its just the turn signals or just the hazard likes that stop working, it gonna be the relay/flasher unit. It's located under your hazard light button. Your hazard light button sits on top of the unit. So if you have a persiting problem or an intermitant problem it's gonna be that unit. You can take off the portion of you dash that contains your vents, hazard light button and light dimmer poteniometer simply my just carefull prying it out srom its clips, be carefull when pulling it out as not to brake any of the plastic.
it is not the hazard system, but comes from the speedo cable which is routed behind the dashboard thus making it sound like the flasher unit.
Often, a separate flasher unit is used to activate the hazard flashers. This unit might be bad, or the switch to activate the hazard flashers might be bad. answer always there are 2 flashers.one for turn signals other for hazard replace hazard flasher They have separate fuses also.
Have you checked for the flasher unit for hazards not sure where to find it on a cherokee.
On my 2002 Passat the hazards and the turn signals all operate through the same flasher unit that operats the hazards. This is behind the hazard switch. See related questions for removal details.
