When looking at the engine, the coil will be on the passenger side of the engine. Look at the air intake tube box, follow it up to the throttle body. Next to the throttle body on will be the coil. Its a single coil, not coil over plug design. Erik
If this is the 4.3 engine, it is located on the bracket next to the ignition coil.
Which engine do you have, need more info.
HEI? inside the distributor cap
Lower passenger side of engine block, the coils are attached to it.
If you have a 2.2L engine in that 98 S10, the coil pack would be attached the the lower portion of the pasenger side of the engine block. It is best reached from underneath.
On the right side valve cover.
The ignition module is located in the distributor, under the distributor cap.
Try replacing the throttle body. (I think that is what it is called) I picked one up at a junkyard for like 20 dollars. Good Luck. PEACE
Lower side of engine block on passengers side, best reached from under the vehicle.
What does the solenoid control?
There is no distributor cap on that engine because there is no distributor. It has a distributor-less ignition system. The spark plug wires go directly to a coil pack with an ignition module mounted on the lower passenger side of the engine. It is best reached from under the vehicle.
under the distributor cap. it is black plastic and has 2 small screws in it New answer: Sorry but that year did not use an ignition module. It use a crank senser and cam senser. If this is a S10 with the 4.3 L engine, it has an ignition module and it is attached to the bracket that also holds the ignition coil on the passenger side of the engine.
