Ok i found the ICM on the fenderwell, and there is a silver plate around it which it sits in, that silver plate is held on with 2 5/16" bolts, and it looks like the ICM has two screw holes but i cant see them to see what they are...any suggestions?
On the distributor
The ignition module is mounted to the side of the distributor. It a rectangular piece.
Regarding a model 1997,2 liter sonata, there is not an ignition control module as such. Ignition control comes from the ECM (ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT) through the Ignition Power Transistor (often called Igniter) and then to the Ignition coil.I do not have any information on the 1.8 or the 3.0 liter models.
The ignition module on a 1989 5.7 liter is located in the distributor. Remove the cap, then the rotor, and you will be looking at the module. The module is held in place with two screws. Real simple. Good luck, David
there are three coils located on top of the engine right at the fire wall, bolted to the ignition module
The logic control module on a 1995 Chrysler Concord 3.3 liter is on the passengers side. it is located underneath the dash.
its mounted under the hood on the driver side fender
The 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee transmission control module is located on the back of the transmission. The transmission control module will be in the upper left-hand corner of the transmission.
V8
The 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 body control module is located on the firewall in the engine compartment. The body control module can be found on the drivers side of the firewall.
Yes ANSWER No - a 1998 3.0 L Ford Ranger does not have a distributor which would allow you to adjust the ignition timing - it has a coil pack and the ignition timing is controlled by the PCM ( powertrain control module )
the 3.1 liter v6 uses the ignition module as the crankshaft sensor and there is no camshaft sensor because it is multi port injected
