On a 1998 Toyota Sienna, the keyless entry module is located in the center console. You have to remove the drawer below the radio to see it; the drawer appears to be a CD holder. The drawer is not held on with screws. Open the drawer, then push in on both sides by the base of the drawer (this releases clips on both sides), and finally pull the drawer up and out. You should now see three plugs. The keyless entry module is the top plug on the left. The plug has two rows of wires. If you wish to program a keyless remote, leave the module plugged in. 1) Connect a short wire from the black-and-white ground wire (lower row, left end of the plug) to the empty slot 2nd from the top left. You will know you have a good connection when you hear the doors lock. Leave the wire in until you are done programming your remotes. (Note: Getting a good connection in the empty slot in the top row is easy; making a good connection to the black-and-white ground wire is not. But it can be done.) 2) Push any key on your remote, then release. The doors will lock, which tells you you have done it correctly. You can also program a second remote in the same way. You CANNOT program a 3rd remote. Also, any remotes you already have must be reprogrammed at this time because the code changes when you enter programming mode and your old remote will no longer work without being reprogrammed! 3) After your remotes are programmed, remove the wire, put the drawer back in, and you are done.
