the crank shaft sensor is located on the back of the engine on left side above the fly wheel. hope that helps im doing the same thing and this is a comon problem with jeeps. only about 85 bucks to replace it.
Not sure what you mean by sequence. The harness does have a proper routing location and it must be plugged into the proper locations.

Considering that it's engine was strikingly similar to the Pakyan 1600cc I4, my guess would be that it would be similar in ignition sequence too. The Pakyan sequence was 1,3,4,2.
For most cars, the sequence is... Off, ACC, Ignition On, Start
ignition, compression, exhaust
1-5-3-6-2-4
Need a year and engine size to answer this question.
Like real estate it is all a matter of location, location and location.
look on the manifold it should have the squence engraved on it
