Where is the modulator valve on a 1985 ford F-150?

The left side of the transmission to the rear just above the transmission mount, it is in a very tight spot to get to and takes some effort to remove. it is very hard to get back in to replace the retaining clip.

I'm not a mechanic / technician but the automatic transmissions on a 2001 Ford Ranger would be electronically controlled , so there wouldn't be a modulator valve
