For the 2001 Kia optima I have found the oil filter between the front passenger side tire and the engine. You can see it if you turn the wheels all the way to the left, although it helps if the filter cover is a bright color. To change it I had to remove the tire.
At the bottom of the engine block.

The auto parts store tonight sold me 4 quarts for the oil change... Optima 2001 4 banger... The actual amount of oil needed for an 1999 - 2003 Optima 4 cyl. is 4.5 qts. and 4.75 qts. for the V6. They use the same size oil filter.
or mopil xhp that's very good the 2003 kia optima uses 5w-30
Depends on the oil filter you are looking for ;) They vary quite a bit. And well, you didn't include a year, or model. If you are into FRAM (available most anywhere, including most Walmarts), here's what I came up for the 2008 Kia Optima:EXTRAGUARD PH9688TOUGHGUARD TG9688
WE recommend 5W30

The oil filter on the Kia Sportage is found on the driver's side of the engine. The oil filter should be replaced during an oil change.
The transmission filter is located in the bottom of the transmission under the oil pan. You have to drop the oil pan to access it but the filter should come with a new gasket.
If its the same as a 2000 model it is at the back of the engine, you can reach it from above.
