Reset the change oil light on Mazda 3
I have found the best directions ever for changing oil in both Mazda 3 2.0 and 2.3 models. Follow directions on this site (http://mazda3revolution.com/how-to-guides/how-to-change-oil-mazda-3-23-20/).
There are multiple freeze plugs for these motors. From memory ther are 3 freeze plugs located down the each side of the block and possibly one located on the head.
The Mazda 3 will take 4.5 qts or 4.3 liters of engine oil duriing a normal oil and filter change.
The oil plug is on the rear of the Oil Pan. Underneath the car right behind the bumper, almost in the center, you will see the oil filter. The oil pan is right behind this. The plug is on the rear bottom side of the oil pan (about 3' back from the bumper). You'll need a 1/2 " wrench for the plug.

where is the block heater cord located on a Mazda 3 2006
I believe it is located right above the oil filter. It screws into the motor block and will have 3 wires attached to it with a plug.
