um i beleave it is behind the motor underneth the intake manifold above the starter motor... one senson with a green wire coming out of it... and your welcome!!
a 1999 has a 1.9l Dohc
yes, all the Saturn DOHC motors are interference engines.
Refer to the link below
Part of the answers is that the SOCH engine is the one with the sprk plug in the front only and the COCH engine is the twin cam 16 v. sprk plug on top
As long as it comes from the DOHC engine..they will all fit, I just did mine Lemme guess..blew a hole in the side of the tranny bro? As long as it comes from the DOHC engine..they will all fit, I just did mine Lemme guess..blew a hole in the side of the tranny bro?
ON the SOHC models the Crankshaft position sensor is located on the front of the oil pan, The DOHC is located behind the engine, the transmission and the flywheel must be removed to the sensor on the DOHC models
A Saturn SL -- and every S-series Saturn -- has a 1.9 liter 4 cylinder engine. The SC2, SL2, and SW2 have a DOHC (dual overhead cam) engine; the SC1, SL, SL1, and SW1 have a SOHC (single overhead cam) engine.
assuming your talking about the sensor that operates the speedometer, there should only be 2.
1.9L SOHC in the SL1, The SL2 has a 1.9L DOHC. I Get 38mpg from mine.
On the top of the transmission where the axles go in.
I don't know were it is located, but I do know there are 2 of them. An up stream & a down stream. I need to know were both of them are located, for I have a 99 Saturn SL2 DOHC
I have a 96 SL2, but im prty sure that they are the same. You should have the: 1.9L DOHC
the unit bolted to the left of the front cam housing ....
Not Applicable The Saturn 4 cylinder, both the SOHC and DOHC used a chain, and it doesn't need to be replaced unless the engine has OTHER problems.
sensor is found on front of engine block above the harmonic balance wheel
dohc is better
Knock Sensor On your 1992 Toyota Truck Previa 2WD (2.4L FI DOHC), the Knock Sensor is located: Front seating area, center, under engine cover, passenger side of engine, under intake manifold, mounted in engine block
what you have to determine is if the engine is a DOHC (SC2, SL2, SW2) or SOHC (SC1, SL1, SW1) engine. they should be interchangable given the engine is the same. Doesnt have to even be the same, single or dual have basically the same lower ends so you can swap any 1.9 Saturn starters.
The 2.4 litre DOHC engine is NOT an interference engine.
The oil pressure sending unit on the 2.4L DOHC engine is located on the driver side end of the INTAKE camshaft housing and not the exhaust cam housing as stated in the "Haynes repair manule".. Right next to the power steering pump.
The crankshaft position sensor is behind the catalytic converter, in the area where the engine mates to the transaxle. Access is from below, and you should wait for it to cool down. This answer is specific to the DOHC 2.0L Zetec engine.
