It is in the oil pan. And you do not have to pull the engine, But you will have to

take motor mounts loose and raise engine up as high as it will go.

It's a tough job to do on your back. The exhaust will have to be taken loose from engine and pulled down. Remove dust cover on transmission and starter. Then remove the oil pan.
