Where is the power steering fluid for a 1997 Buick Regal LS 3.8 liter engine?

PS reservoir if facing the front of the car it is on the left hand side below the alternator against the firewall.

The power steering dipstick is made into the fluid filler cap. The power steering unit is on the front of the motor, and the cap is right on the top of it.

It is at the back of the engine on the pass side. It is under the alternator, follow the serpentine belt to the power steering pump.

Passenger side, under the alternator, towards the firewall.

You can bypass the power steering pump pulley in your 1993 Buick regal 3.8 liter engine. Measure the distance around the other pulleys, without the power steering pump pulley. Take the measurement to your local auto-parts stores and ask for a belt of that measurement.

Okay, it took me about 10 minutes but I found it. I have a 1994 Buick Regal & my oil filter is on the back passenger side of the engine, about 3/4 of the way down, below the power steering box. I hope that helps! On my 1991 Buick Regal the oil filter is located under the power steering pump which you access through the passenger wheel well to remove/add the filter.

Coolant Recovery Reservoir. There is no sensor in the coolant recovery tank on a 1998 Buick Regal.

both power steering fluid and transmission fluid are hydraulic fluids, but it would be best to get some power steering fluid. its cheap and its the right stuff. 91 buicks take just plain Jane power steering fluid.

You can buy a patch kit at most of your local auto parts stores.*edit* I misread that and thought it said washer fluid, the patch kit I'm thinking of may not work in your case *edit*

PS Fluid reservoir is on the passengers' side, just in front and below the alternator towards the firewall . It is difficult to find without a flashlight since it's a black screw on cap. You will have to reach just below and in front of the the alternator to get to it. You will also need a funnel with a long tube (transmission funnel will work) to reach it without making a mess. Note: quoted from the answer for the 2000 Buick Regal.

There is no adjustment of the pump. You can adjust belt tension, by loosing and adjusting tension with the bolts holding it in place, but that is all.

Assuming this is a 3800 Buick engine the power steering pump is on the left side (hood up looking into the engine bay) of the engine toward the firewall (back side of engine). In our 94 Regal it is basically right on top of the engine and the serpentine belt that drives this pump is clearly visable as is the filler cap for p/s fluid!
