How do you replace a break light switch on 1995 Chevy Tahoe
There is more than one relay, be more specific. Third Brake light
The brake light switch can be found below the dashboard on the drivers side of the passenger compartment. The brake light switch simply plugs in and out.
BEHIND THE BRAKE PEDAL
You may need to check your brake light switch. It is a small switch located on top of your brake peddle (up on the arm of the peddle). This switch allows the brake lights to come on whenever you push the peddle.
Check operation and/or alignment of the stoplight switch usually located at the upper end of the brake pedal -under dash area
The brake switch is located on the brake master cylinder!
The brake light switch is located on a bracket behind the brake pedal support.
I have a 97 Tahoe and the brake lights were not working and the problem was in the emergency flasher switch. I just jiggled it and the brake lights worked so am thinking you might have the same problem. It could also be the brake pedal switch located right on the pedal arm.
your brake switch is either broken or out of alignment look above the brake pedal in your vehicle and make sure the switch is not hanging. The switch has to be closed to turn the lights off.
A diagram to replace the brake light on a 1999 Tahoe can be purchased from your local auto parts store. It is located in the Haynes 1999 Tahoe Repair Manual.
It will either be a mechanical switch located on the brake pedal lever under the dash, or a pressure switch located on or near the master cylinder.
