On my 94 pathfinder its on the starter. an easy way to find out is to follow the positive battery cable and see where it posts to. BTW if the solenoid is on the starter you may need to buy a whole new starter, It was like $90 with a core trade in at autozone

On F series or H series engines which came in most 90's accords and preludes the shift solenoids are located near the front engine mount and slightly to the right on the transmission. They look like two protruding cylinders that have two electrical connectors.

If you are getting trouble codes P07xx, you need to go to the specialist. It will cost you about $700-800 to fix it. There is solenoid pack inside the tranny, but the problem in 90% of cases is not with the solenoid, but with cracked valve spring on the gear the solenoid calls. Parts are cheap, but labor is not. You need to remove the pan, solenoid pack, then valve body, replace broken spring, check for seized valves and reassemble... you might want to do also tune up on the tranny...
