In the wiring harness behind the parking brake. You will have to remove the plastic shield and dig around in the wires for it. Pink with White or white with pink. Can't remember. Consult your remote starter manual.
replacing the starter is relatively simple, what do is remove the wires from the starter solenoid which is located on top of the starter motor, and mark where the wires came from, there is a small terminal then there is a bigger terminal. oh and un hook the battery before that because it's an unpleastant surprise. then using a jack support the starter before the bolts are removed, then remove the bolts, which in most cases are 15mm, then lower the jack with the starter and put the new one one the jack. raise the jack and hook everything back up. get the starter secured and hook the wires up then the battery and turn it over. jeremy aka ccz5105
hello i need to know what wires i need to hook up for my aftermart remote start in in 94 Chevy s-10 truck with a 2.2 motor
I think that your problem will be in the starter. I think that the solenoid is not kicking the bendix into the starter gear. Check the wiring, check for a good ground. If that is not it pull the starter and remove the solenoid and replace it. Your local auto parts store can test your starter to see if it is working. Jeff if you think its the starter, remove starter and bench test it. if you can't do this at home you take it to your nearest autozone or checkers and they can check it for you. if the starter is good. reinstall starter and try a remote ignition switch. you can find them for less than 10 bucks with 5 feet of lead wire and alligator clips. hook it up to stater. turn key on and start with remote and it should run. turn off key and try key start again. if it doesn't start that way you know you an ignition switch problem. this method should until you get a new switch. I had same prob I tapped the side of starter litely with hamer and tried again to start and it started up it, ended up being the starter and I replaced starter, problem solved
you hook the positive cable,(usually the red) to the positive battery terminal first then you hook the negative cable(usually black) to the negative terminal if you hook it the other way you can get sparks or arcing that can cause damage or a fire PS: if both cables are same color, the negative cable is the one bolted to the frame or the engine.the poitive is bolted to the solenoid or starter

If you can get to the starter, you hook up one side of the switch to the terminal that goes to the battery and the other side of the switch to the small terminal marked with and "S". "S" is for starter. The other small terminal you leave alone. Applying power to this terminal will damage the starter.
All-remote starts come with instruction. Each one is different. Follow the instructions check twice before cutting or splicing any wires.
Using the starter solenoid jump the small middle terminal with the starter terminal at the rear of the solenoid
it will fit, just be sure the motor mounts hook up or you'll have to make adjmts.
It is on the top of the starter. The solanoid is what the starter wires hook to.
You can hook up the starter, on your 1984 Chevrolet, by attaching the ground cable and the hot cable to the appropriate posts on the starter. Bolt the starter into place.
