Is this a 4.7 liter? If it is like mine then it is located at the lower hose where it goes into the engine. Two bolts hold it on. The other engines I believe are at the top hose where the hose meets the engine. Hope this helps.
3.7L and 4.7L, it is under the housing where the lower hose hooks on the engine.
3.9L, 5.2L, 5.9L, it is under the housing where the upper hose attaches.

The thermostat is below the housing at the end of the hose. It is tucked in behind the alternator but with a long extension on your ratchet you can get at the two bolts that hold down the thermostat housing. Goodluck.
