The thermostat is located on the back of the engine under the exhaust manifold There is a pipe that runs across the back of the engine and around the corner to the hose the t-stat is in the pipe right where the hose connects to the pipe Easy to change if you know what you are doing Not easy if you don't Note that whole pipe must come off to replace the stat

Get a manual on your car from the parts store for about $18 and it will help on the next repair. The Saturn Ls1 that I own I have replaced the brakes twice and each time I am forced to buy the brakes frome Saturn although this car is 5 years old the parts for this 2000 Saturn LS1 are not allowed to be sold on the open market.

you more than likely will not have a dipstick on any manual transmission. most of them do not need fluid that needs regular service.
In my L Series Saturn, the fuses are under the hood for some things and on the wall near the floor pedals. My car has a diagram and explains which fuses are for what on the top of the cover panel of the fuse box locations.
If it is noisy, leaking or not pumping sufficient coolant to cool the engine, replace it.

The 2000 LS1, being the first year of the L-series, has had quite a few minor problems like that. That is caused by some of the wiring being chafed, and Saturn issued a recall in 2003 to fix this, and a few other problems with the car. The problem with the lights and blinker usually only occurs if you live in a humid area.
Usually it's a faulty temperature sensor. If that isn't it I'll be watching this post and look it up. I have a full set of shop manuals for 2000 Saturn LS electrical and will go through it if you give me some more information.
