Should be in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
The previous answer is wrong dont know who wrote it but, the thermostat is on the drivers side of the engine block behind the alternator and below the intake manifold. on the lower hose.

AnswerThe thermostat comes in a housing that bolts directly to the motor, and is located on the driver's side of the motor, about 1/2 way from the top, & towards the front of the engine. To remove/replace it you need a socket wrench & a 3 to 6 inch extension. You will have to remove the alternator and serpentine belt to get to it. This is where the thermostat is located on the trailblazer for years 2002 to 2004.
