There are two identical bolts on the side of the Tranny case, both are sunk into small pits, one lower and one upper, drop the lower one out to drain the fluid and the other one to fill it up (after you put the bottom one back in first)
The in-flow and drain for the Transmission Fluid are two 8mm hex keys, however I had to take a grinder to mine to shorten it so it would fit in between the hole and the frame.
The Cobalt is a closed system. That means you can not add trans fluid, it has to go to the dealer to get it done right. rev. this is not a closed system. you can add fluid on top of the trans there is a fill cap. best thing to do if your not sure is to drop the pan and change the filter and add 7 qts of fluid. There is no transmission fluid cap as such. The dipstick is the closest thing there is to a cap. If you need to add fluid simply pour the correct fluid down the dipstick tube.
dextron 3 automatic transmission fluid. Now known as domestic multi vehicle transmission fliud. ( GM and licencing thing)
It does not have one. You have to remove the transmission pan that is bolted to the bottom of the trans. Be sure to have a big drain pan to catch the fluid. The only thing that will come out is fluid.
Sorry, to such thing, at least not for an automatic. You have to pull the pan and replace the filter and gasket if you want to change the transmission fluid. Note that you don't get any of the fluid out of the torque converter when you change the transmission fluid, so it's just a partial fluid change.
First thing to check is fluid level. The vehicle is getting older may just be wear, try adding "Lucas Transmission Conditioner" But be sure to first remove enough fluid to keep from overfilling.
The first thing to check is that your transmission fluid level is correct. If it is too low the trans cannot pressurize. DO NOT Overfill.
Transmission fluidTake out the transmission dip stick & pour in the transmission fluid in to it. That's simple thing to do if you had a funnel. vbenz
there is no such thing as transmission filter,u have to change the transmission fluid.
Yes, they are the same thing.
By putting it in the thing that says trans fluid
From what i have read the transmission fluid filter is inside of Honda trannys. You have to take apart the thing to get at it!
