There isn't one. VW decided this was a "maintenance free" transmission. In reality it is a huge bother turning a transmission leak, usually a minor irritation, into a major problem because it cannot easily be checked. The only way to check your fluid level is to crawl underneath the car and remove one of the bolts on the underside of the transmission. If you removed the correct one and if fluid comes out, you have enough. Crazy huh?
I had a 2000 jetta and the dipstick is down below by the rack & pinion on the driver's side. It is not long enough to reach the top (accessible from open hood). You have to go under the car and reach on the front drivers side of the transmission.
Manual has no dipstick. Auto is near the firewall.
If it is a Manual transmission you do not have a dipsticks.
The automatic transmission dipstick is just to the left of the engine ( when you are standing in front facing the engine ) near the firewall , the manual transmission doesn't have a dipstick
it doesent have one. you have to have a special tool.
The tranny dipstick will be of a maroon color an the driver side of the car.
look on left side of engine
The only dipstick are for the engine oil and automatic transmission fluid.
PULL THE DIPSTICK ! * The dipstick is located between the engine and battery on the driver's side.
there is no dipstick. level is checked via a removable plug on the transmission.
There is a dipstick at the right rear of the engine It has a scale oneach side, one for Cold and the other HOT. the transmission is hot after driving15 miles of highway.
You add fluid through the dipstick tube. There is no cap like the oil.
