∙ 2006-03-01 17:32:40The 2004 Mercury Mountaineer does not have an automatic transmission fluid dipstick . I know that the 2002 and newer Ford Explorer four door versions do not have a dipstick for the automatic transmission fluid level .
On a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer : Using a funnel , add the automatic transmission fluid through the automatic transmission fluid dipstick tube . It is located near the firewall , just to the right side ( passenger side ) of the engine , where the transmission is bolted to the rear of the engine . ( the type of transmission fluid to use should be engraved into the dipstick )
On a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer with the 5.0 liter V8 engine : The engine oil dipstick is on the drivers side of the engine
The transmission fluid dipstick is just to the left of and below the battery and fuse box.
There is no transmission dip stick for a 2002 mercury mountaineer, fluid will need to be checked from under the vehicle. There is a fill plug on the transmission, remove the plug and fluid level should be up to the level of the plug hole. This is the only year mercury did this in the mountaineer.
On a 2001 Mercury Sable : The automatic transaxle ( transmission ) fluid level dipstick is near the firewall , in the area of the brake fluid reservoir , in the engine compartment
PULL THE DIPSTICK ! * The dipstick is located between the engine and battery on the driver's side.
On a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis : The automatic transmission fluid level dipstick is in the engine compartment , near the firewall , towards the passenger side of the engine
where is the tire jack and jack handle located on a 2002 mercury mountaineer?????
You add transmission fluid through the same tube where the transmission dipstick is located. You need a funnel used for transmission oil. The funnel is long, narrow and the end can fit into the dipstick tube.
The transmission dipstick is located to the left of the engine on a 1996 Toyota Avalon. It is near the oil dipstick.
There is no dipstick for the transmission. There is a plug on the side of the transmission oil pan where the speedometer cable is located.
