trunk light is located in the trunk
Trunk light switch is part of the trunk light socket assembly...
The trunk release in a 1995 Dodge Intrepid is under the dashboard on the driver's side. There is also a remote trunk release.
Why not correct the problem that is causing it to tell you the trunk is open when it is not. There is a switch in the trunk that is out of adjustment. the switch is located in the latch mechanism itself located on the trunk lid once located there should be a plug in there unplug it youwill have no trunk light or dash indicator but this will solve your problem
in the trunk there are 3 plastic wing nuts take them off and the light will come out.
There are three plastic nuts accessible from inside the trunk.
Located in the fuel tank- may have to remove if there is not an access panel in trunk area
Inside the trunk there is a turnable thumb screws where the brake lights are. Twist screws off and the brake light pops out.
The Fuel Pump is located inside the fuel tank.there is a access hole under the trunk mat in the trunk, 3phillips screws and there you go....
It is inside the fuel tank. 1993-1997 there is an access in the trunk. 1998-2004 you have to remove the tank to access.
Look in your owners manual.
In my case on a 2001 Dodge Intrepid, there were two bare wires in the wiring harness coming into the trunk lid. It was in the area where the wiring harness is clamped to the trunk (left side) just at the lip of the trunk recess. I wiggled that harness and got the dash trunk light to flash on & off. Peeling back the wiring harness cover at that point revealed the bare wires. Taped them off individually, and then retaping wiring harness at that point solved my problem.
In the fuel tank. If there is no access panel in the trunk or under the rear seat, the tank must be removed.
