Under the drivers side, on top of the transmission cranckcase. You'll see a cable with a clip-on connection to the VSS. It can be very hard to remove as it may seize up over time and there's not alot of room to work in.
The Vehicle Speed Sensor on the 1996 Mercury Villager is located on the back of the transmission (as you look at the vehicle from the front) on top of the transmission with a pair of wires leading away from it... best to reach it from under the vehicle.
Cam position is taken from the distributor on this vehicle, there is no separate cam sensor.

The vehicle speed sensor is at the top rear corner of the transmission housing.
In the engine compartment
It is located in the distributor unit.
It's at the top of the transmission on the back corner.
It is mounted to the rear of the throttle body.
There is no such part that I am aware of.
On the EGR valve assembly.
The speed sensor on a 2000 Mercury Village is found on the transmission of the vehicle. The sensor will be placed on top of the unit to read the rotations of the transaxle.
