First Check the coil packs (what the spark plug wires connect to), which on a 2.8 will be located on the front side of the motor, next to the oil filter, on a 3.8 should be on the top left of the motor, right above the serpentine belt, or on a 3.3 located on the top of the motor, in the center, on top of everything else. If the coil packs are ok, Check the ignition control module, which is located underneath the coil packs. If that checks out ok, your going to have to next check the CPS (Crank Shaft Position Sensor). This can be tough, and often break during replacement, so be very careful. On the 2.8 motor it is located on the back of the motor, near the bottom, and can be a real pain to get to. On the other motors (except 4 cylinder), it is located underneath the harmonic balancer (serpentine belt carrier).

How do you change the spark plugs on a 2002 Volvo S40?

to change the plugs you must take off the spark plug boots..you then take the spark plugs out with a 5/8 sparkplug socket..put the new plugs in the holes and finger tighten them a little(with the socket and extension so that it doesnt cross thread)it might also be wise to replace the wires if they look bad or cracked..

How do you change the plugs on a 92 buick century?

removal of the spark plugs is pretty straight forward. Just pull up on the spark plug boot. You will need a 5/8 socket and driver. Make sure you look at the inside of the spark plug wire to see if it is burnt or not. if so replace the wires as well. The front come off with ease, the reaers are a little more tricky. For this i recomend a hand ratchet. There like 5 dollars and worth not battling the firewall. the hand ratchet will fit behind the engine where the socket driver will not. Make sure when putting the new spark plugs in you do not cross thread them hand start them all. Also make sure not to over tighten them they should be snugg but not tight. Hope this helps
