Whites were used as slaves. These men, women and children are not to be confused with the indentured servants because they could only legally work for a short period of time, and you couldn't sell their children they were considered unprofitable and disposable. During certain periods of American History their were large numbers of white slaves (usually Irish and Scottish). Many of the slaves where in the west indies as early as 1627. According to 1701 records of the 25,000 slaves in Barbados 21,700 were white slaves.

Yes there are, Though it is commonly believed by the African American society that whites were all slave Owners. It is not true, My family from Ireland ( white ) where slaves to the British over religion for much Longer than the u.s. slaves. However history tells it there will always be worse slavery.

Historically slaves were from many countries - the name slave derives from Slavic (as for Yugoslavia). Selling other peoples into slavery was a common practice amongst both the European and African peoples and goes back to ancient times.

The first slaves in the United States were white and of British Origin. Their names apeared as cargo rather than in the Immigration records. Many of these people were stolen from the street in Britain or were British Convicts sold onto Merchants who would on sell them for their labour to recover the cost of the journey. However white slaves could easily abscond into the community black slaves were much easier to identify when the absonded.

Many convicts from the Indian colonies were sent to Singapore. An attempt was also made to send Chinese convicts there but (like the American scenario) they absconded readily into the community and the practice was discontinued.

African slaves sold into the American market were purchased from African slave traders who were also native Africans. It was not uncommon for slaves (including white slaves) to be owned by black slave owners.
