The location of Hadrian's Wall is from Wallsend-on-Tyne in the east to Bowness on the Solway Firth in the west. It was 73 miles long and and was reputed to have been built in order to keep the northern hostile tribes from coming south (there is still debate on the real reason it was built). It does not form the boundary between Scotland and England, being entirely in England. There are several Visitor Centres along the route, so it is worth researching for information on the internet if planning a visit.
