Only he knew for certain. What is known is that his landlady saw him at the northbound bus stop outside the rooming house, but Officer J.D. Tippit encountered Oswald almost a mile southwest of the rooming house near North Patton Ave. and 10th Street. After Tippit was shot and killed, Oswald was reported to have entered a shoe store, then entering the Texas Theater where he was captured.
