Tuberculosis was discovered in 1822 by Robert Koch. In 1882, the microbiologist Robert Koch discovered the tubercle bacillus, at a time when one of every seven deaths in Europe was caused by TB.
Well, the first people to discover it that we have a written record of were the Greeks (in Greece), who called it phthisis. It was called different things in different cultures since then, and there is evidence from the Neolithic period of people having it back then. So, I guess Greece, although other people had it and may have known about it before that. We just don't have any records from back then.
Some other interesting tidbits:
In the middle ages, the idea of viruses came around, and in 1869 it was proven that cadavers with tuberculosis could infect rabbits. The X-ray (discovered in 1895) made it possible to diagnose the disease. The first vaccines were developed in 1921. Antibiotics helped treat the disease starting in 1944, but in the 1980s drug-resistant strains of the disease were discovered.
Robert Koch, a German physician and scientist, presented his discovery ofMycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacterium that causes tuberculosis (TB), on the evening of March 24, 1882. He began by reminding the audience of terrifying statistics: "If the importance of a disease for mankind is measured by the number of fatalities it causes, then tuberculosis must be considered much more important than those most feared Infectious Diseases, plague, cholera and the like. One in seven of all human beings dies from tuberculosis. If one only considers the productive middle-age groups, tuberculosis carries away one-third, and often more."
Usually on a Chest X-Ray that shows shadowing at the tops of the lungs *********************************************** Tuberculosis can be diagnosed by: Sputum- (spit) Xrays and CT scans of part of body infected Blood Biopsy

in 1882 by Robert Koch who isolated the mycobacteria "tubercle bacillus"
Tuberculosis was first discovered in 1882 by Robert Koch.
The earliest detection was in Bison remains dated from 18,000 years ago. (From wikipedia)
I think he studied anthrax but im not sure he discovered it "/
no it was only discovered in world war 2
Dr. Robert Koch discovered the tuberculosis bacillus
Streptomycin is an antibiotic used to treat tuberculosis and other types of serious infections. This was discovered in the year 1943 and the first antibiotic that was effective against tuberculosis.
Albert Calmette did NOT discover tuberculosis. He was only trying to cure it. In 1882, the German microbiologist Robert Koch discovered that Mycobacterium Tuberculosis caused tuberculosis. However, the discoverer of tuberculosis is not one person, but many scientists who have described the disease. The first person to describe the disease was Hippocrates, a Greek physician. This shows that tuberculosis has existed for 15,000 to 20,000 years.
He discovered many different bacteria, but the most widely known one was probably Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which he discovered was the cause of Tuberculosis, and won a Nobel prize for this discovery. P.S. your mom
Consumption, or tuberculosis as it is now called, was rampant in London's impoverished east end. Ripper victim Annie Chapman, upon autopsy, was discovered to have tuberculosis and possibly phlueresy.
Robert Koch
he discovered the streptomycin the antibiotic active against tuberculosis.
Koh or Kok(if you're referring to the name of the doctor/biologist who discovered the tuberculosis bacillus).
i think it is the similar species of tuberculosis.
