Mainly in Europe. Biggest theatre of operations was the Western Front which ran from the coast of North Sea through Belgium and France to the border of Switzerland. Easter Front was similar, running from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea through modern Lithuania, Poland and Romania.
There was also the Balkan front, where Austria and Serbia fought in modern Yugoslavia, Italian front at the Alps and Turkish front in southern Turkey, at Gallipoli. Britain also helped the Arabs in Middle-East to revolt against the Ottoman Empire (ie Turkey).
Plenty of fighting was also done around Africa, between the various European colonies and in Asia, where Japan conquered several of the Pacific Islands which had belonged to Germany.
