The switch is located at the shift lever input to the transmission. If you look down right next to the power brake booster, you should see the switch on top of the transmission. When you buy the replacement switch it will come with installation instructions. READ THEM. The trans must be in Neutral to get the new switch (or old one) reinstalled in the correct position!
I just had the tranny rebuilt in my 2000 Impala. When the mechanic was taking it apart, he showed me the neutral safety switch and it is inside the transmission. I think he told me that was the case for the 2000 and the 2001 Impala's. In that case the transmission has to come out in order to change the neutral safety switch.
It is on top of the transmission where the shifter linkage connects to the transmission. Just under the linkage is the switch. No need to remove anything to get to is if you hands and arms are small enough. It has 2 hold down bolts and you must also remove the nut that connects the linkage.

There isn't a neutral safety switch. There is a manual lever position sensor(MLP). It combines all the fuctions of backup lights, neutral safety, and informing the PCM what gear you have selected into one unit. Follow the shift cable out to the transmission, and at the end, you will find the MLP.

On my 2002 S-10 truck, the neutral safety switch (also called the Park Neutral Position Switch, or PNP switch) is located on the driver's side of the transmission. It is a black box that has 2 electrical connections going into it. There is a very good chance that it is in the same location on your 2000 Blazer. Hope this helps.
