The Illinois government had told the Mormons to leave the state. They were prioviously kicked out of Missouri, Ohio, and New York, and other states werent expected to be friendly either. Really, their only option was to go west. Brigham Young didn't need to have an argument, nearly everyone agreed.

Joseph Smith had prophesied shortly before he was killed that the people would find refuge in the valleys of the Rocky Mountains, so that is where they set out to go.

Who was the founder of the Mormon church in Utah?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) was founded in Upstate New York by Joseph Smith, Jr. Over the next 15 years, the church moved throughout the East and Midwest in search of religious freedom. Joseph Smith was murdered in 1844, and in 1845 the majority of Mormons began moving further west under the direction of Brigham Young. These Mormons eventually arrived in Utah and have now become a 15.5 million member worldwide denomination.

What is the name of the settlements called for the non-Mormons?

Usually, nothing. For a brief period before Utah was a state, some saints referred to the settlements of non-Mormons as "Gentile". This practice lasted only a couple decades at most, as non-Mormons quickly began moving into predominantly Mormon settlements and inter-mixing with them.

Why was brigham young successful in keeping the Mormons safe?

Brigham Young was a very determined man. He said what he meant, meant what he said, and was not afraid to do whatever it took to accomplish his goals. He was personable and friendly, but knew when to be stern and serious, and had little tolerance for those who were not willing to be 'all in' as he was. (He often said that if people weren't willing to do this or that then they should leave rather than bring everyone else down) This attitude was a huge contributor to his success as a leader and defender of the Mormon people. The first thing that made him successful was moving to the Salt Lake Valley. This area is surrounded by some very difficult mountainous terrain which is subject to very severe weather, meaning it wouldn't be easy for any enemies to come, and if they did, the Mormons would have plenty of time to prepare. The second thing that made him successful was his kindness to the Native Americans who lived in the area. For the most part, the Mormons and the Native Americans got along pretty well and were united in their distrust of the US Military and others who were sent to 'keep an eye' on the Mormons. The third was his knack for order and organization. Brigham Young did an incredible job of organizing the people, assigning them tasks, and ensuring that the whole operation ran like clockwork. Since the people were unified in working for their survival, they had all they needed to survive in the harsh climate.

Why did Brigham Young led the Mormons to move from their original homes?

Brigham Young lead members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (commonly called "Mormons") from their homes in Nauvoo, Illinois because the Illinois State Militia requested they leave the state by February, 1846. They crossed the Mississippi river into Iowa on February 2, and stayed in Nebraska for one year before moving on to Salt Lake City, Utah. There had been a lot of mob violence against the church members at the time (including the murder of the church's prophet, Joseph Smith, and other church leaders), and the State no longer was willing to put up with the violence. They repealed the Nauvoo Charter and asked the Saints to leave by February, so they did.The Mormons had been kicked out of other places before Nauvoo due to mob violence, including Kirtland, Ohio and Jackson County, Missouri. The governor of Missouri even issued an extermination order against them in 1838.

Was Wyatt Earp a Mormon?

No. Wyatt Earp was not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church). He did hold a job moving freight to Salt Lake City for a couple years in the 1860's, so he very likely knew some Mormons.

When an object on the constellation is moving what is the most likely explanation for the moving object?

If you mean visibly moving, it's most likely a satellite. Or an airplane. If you mean moving appreciably over the course of several days or weeks or months, it's probably a planet.
