Generally, bakery bread will turn moldy first. Store-bought bread tends to have preservatives added to it to prevent molding; while it will mold eventually, it can last for quite a while. Most bakery bread does not contain any preservatives, and will mold faster than the store-bought bread.

It depends more on how you store it. breads left open to the atmosphere, or sealed in a plastic bag AFTER being opened, or kept where it can get damp are more succeptible to collecting and propagating mold spores.

I prefer to keep bread sealed in a paper bag for up to a day, or if it's store bought fold the bag rather than seal it to allow it to breath. Keeping it in the freezer will keep it longer, but the quality tends to degrade. If you have a bread box , this is the best to help keep homemade bread fresh.
