Why Nazi was defeated at Normandy?

because they thought the main invasion would come at pa de calais. when the invasion eventually came in Normandy the Germans could not counterattak because they needed hitlers permission and he was still asleep and noone wanted to wake him. when they did finally counter attack all they could do was slow up the mass of troops comin into France daily. their defeat was by no means rommels fault or the fighting Germans. also the allieds ability to prevent the Germans knowing about the invasion. the parachute operations on eitherside of Normandy prevented the Germans from getting organized.

Does anybody no anything about longstop hill Tunisia?

Weeks ago I was watching a show on Military History Channel about the Tunisian campaign. I could not tell you the name of the show because I watch hundreds of them. Any way I remember the term Longstop Hill in Tunisia and I believe it was in the Kasserine Pass. I found a sight that shows a little bit of the hills in the Kasserine pass and there are some great maps too like they showed on the television show. I think the hill may have been a place where the Allieds retreated to during a battle but went on to win in Africa later on. See links below.

To address the issue of Nazi genocide during World War 2 the Allies .?

The allieds knew full well the Jews were being annihilated but not to the extent they were being killed. Some complain the US and Winston Churchill did nothing for the Jews. That is a misconception that they COULD do something about it while it was going on. The only thing they could do is what they did do, Invade Europe and defeat the Nazis. Once the troops all over Europe, particularly in Poland and Germany, stumbled upon the concentration camps, death camps and remaining ghettos they were shocked at the brutality, cruelty, and heinous crimes done to the Jews, Poles, undesirables and others. The response of today is to continue to help the victims who are still alive and to educate the world that we do not accept genocide in any form on any persons.

Why was the battle of bulge important to the allied?

The Battle of the Bulge was quite a important battle for the allies for few reasons. Someof those reasons are that;It was the final major German offence in WW2.If the allies were victoriouse, it would crush the German moralIf the allies failed, it would boost German morale and would result the Germans pushing the allieds on the western front, then to encounter the USSR, which were advancing from the east.
