there are many people who can be courageous in their own way. but people everyday that can be courageous are policemen and firemen. they risk their lives everyday for other people which is the best way of courage. they believe that its better to save others lives so much that they risk their own.
A brave person would be anyone who does something that he/she is normally scared to death of. The act doesn't have to be heroic at all, and the person doesn't have to be famous.
For example, Bob could be afraid of llamas. If he went up and petted one, that would be considered brave.
If Bob wasn't afraid of jumping off of a 10,000 foot building and plummeting into the land of pointy rocks and sharp objects, doing that wouldn't mean he was brave. It would just mean he was stupid in his decision making.
Another more heroic example would be if someone was trapped in a house that was on fire. If Bob, afraid of fires, went into the house and saved the man, then he would be considered brave.
Anyone in the world could be brave. A parent could be brave for making sure that his/her kid doesn't fall of a cliff by sprinting and possibly risking his/her life for the kids safety. A 3rd grader could be brave if he/she decided to stop a fight between two kids. Just about everyone you know is brave, just at different moments.
Harriet Tubman. She was a slave born around 1820. She escaped slavery when she was an adult. Instead of staying in the north or going on to Canada, like many did, she went back and led other slaves to freedom, including her family. She risked her life for other time after time. Over the years she led over 300 enslaved people to freedom which is why she was given the nickname, "Moses".
Check her out. She was an amazing woman.
