New King James Version (NKJV)
27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
In 2 Kings 2:11, Elijah is taken by chariot into the heavens (1st heaven or sky) by whirlwind. Amazingly, some 7 years after this event, Elijah sends a letter to King Jeroham (see 2 Chronicles 21:12). Similarly, it is now becoming clear that Enoch was also 'transported' to a place of safety as the people did not seem to like what he was saying.
Only Jesus, who also died and was entombed for 3 full days and nights, was worthy enough to ascend to heaven (3rd heaven and spirit world with God's Throne):
New King James Version (NKJV)
13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven
Recommendation: always allow The Bible to interpret itself and not someone else.
The two men were Elijah and Enoch.
According to the Bible, Enoch was the only other person besides Elijah who did not experience physical death. Instead, he was taken up to heaven by God.
According to the Bible, the only other person who was taken directly by God to be with Him without experiencing death was the prophet Elijah, who was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind. Enoch and Elijah are the two individuals mentioned in the Bible who did not experience physical death but were taken by God.
Enoch and Elijah are the two individuals in the Bible who did not experience death before going to heaven. Enoch was taken up to heaven by God, and Elijah was taken up in a whirlwind.
ezra, enoch, and Elijah
Enoch and Elijah.
Enoch and Elijah according to these references: GENESIS 5:21-24, II KINGS 2:11
Enoch and Elijah are the only two mentioned in the Bible who did not die. Enoch was "taken away by God," according to Genesis 5:24, while a flaming chariot transported Elijah away from the presence of Elisha (2 Kings 2:1-11).
The bible says that both the prophet Elijah and Enoch did not die . But were taken up into heaven. Elijah in a cloud.
Elijah and Enoch were the only two people mentioned in the Bible to go to heaven without dying. Enoch was the first of the two.
The bible is silent on this point. There is no reason to suppose that he was taken up alive into heaven as Enoch and Elijah were. He is an Old Testament type (or Picture) of Jesus Christ, who was to come, but nothing offered in scripture to suggest a (rapturing) up to heaven alive, as Enoch and Elijah.
Enoch was the first person not to die. He lived around 2000 years before Elijah.24And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
