James Smith, he made the people work if they wanted to eat. All the people wanted to just wash gold and that's all, but Smith put them to work. Later on after 1612, Jamestown improved when colonists started growing tabacoo. They even had slaves come from Africa so they can help and service could move quicker.

Colonial AmericaThere was a native american tribe near where they lived.Their chief Powhatan captured Captain John Smith.He then ordered him to lay his heads between 2 stones.The man (John) thought he was going to die. But then the chiefs daughter Pocahontas stopped this.John might have misunderstood a ceremony.After this the tribe helped Jamestown.Mostly Pocahontas though.
