Actually, there is some evidence that as far back as the third grade, he was thinking about this-- he was a boy, and not exactly sure what a president did, but in a school essay, he wrote that he wanted to be president because they "help people" and "make people happy." Years later, I think he was inspired to enter politics because of the work he had done advocating for the poor and being a civil rights attorney; this led to his trying to change society for the better at the local level while in politics in Chicago. He was certainly influenced by the achievements of presidents like Franklin Delano Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy, as well.
It is not clear that any one person motivated him to run for president; he certainly had political heroes and mentors; but when he entered politics in 1996, there is no evidence in his writings or in articles about him that he had a plan to seek the presidency one day. In fact, he seemed content to be in the Illinois state senate, serving the people in and around Chicago. But his ambitions expanded with an unsuccessful run for the US senate in 2000, and then later, after serving three terms in the state senate, he was able to successfully win a US Senate in 2004.
Around that time, he began to be seen in Democratic party political circles as an up-and-coming politician who had great potential; he gave an eloquent speech at the Democratic Convention in 2004, and got an excellent response from Democrats nation-wide. This persuaded many party veterans that Barack Obama was a gifted young candidate; there is evidence that some in the party began to encourage him to think about how far he could go as a politician. And by 2007, Mr. Obama reached the decision that he should throw his hat into the ring and run for president.
By most accounts, Mr. Obama's political career as a state senator and then a US senator led him to decide he could make a difference for the country if he became president. But there are some accounts which say as early as the third grade, he was imagining what it might be like to be president.

Based on his writings, there does not seem to have been one person who inspired his political career nor helped him to decide to be president; it seems to have been a gradual process. In fact, he did not enter politics until 1996. Before that, he was a lawyer, a professor, and an advocate for the poor. But once he came to believe that being in government would make him a more effective spokesperson for causes he believed in, he decided to focus on politcs and run for office. He has said he admired other presidents-- such as Abraham Lincoln, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy, but it is not clear that previous politicians inspired him to run for president himself.
His party encouraged him. Without his party's belief in his ability to win, he could not run.
His grandmother who raised him and who he claims made him into the man he is today.
he completely wanted to be the first black man in presidency and because he realized many more white woman would want to bang black men if one was president
