Who is Danny welderlock?

I recently ran across several questions regarding a person named Danny Welderlock. Typically, this would be problematic for one reason; WikiAnswers does not permit the posting of the names or personal information of non-celebrities.

Being former military, I am keenly aware of the difficulties our service members face. Additionally, I have several years experience in an investigative field. So, I began digging. This is what I found:

Someone claiming to be named Danny Welderlock has been posting adds on the internet at various sites for a nanny or an Au Pair, allegedly because his wife died and he has two children for whom he needs to provide care. He is allegedly in the Navy, and ostensibly he needs a caregiver for when he will be deployed or on sea duty.

From the beginning, there are several problems with this. The Navy, all services in fact, have organizations in place to assist service members who might find themselves in situations like this. It would never be necessary for a SM to seek to employ someone for this. The Military would in fact provide extra assistance through various relief services to help offset the costs that family members or friends might incur trying to help out a widowed service member with children.

Additionally, a brief search on "Danny Welderlock" yielded a few, very few leads.

Hubpages, an internet based Filipino employment service, shows a comment "Danny" posted after an article discussing several potential employers. If you scroll to the bottom of the article, his is near the bottom. It is virtually a copy of the next.

This was an apparent ad placed on Trabaho (Spanish for "work"), a Filipino job search site for Canada, the Americas, and the Philippines. Looking at his add you will see it against seeks a Filipino woman.

The third was a brief profile on Netlog. Netlog is a small European based social networking site. Notice "Danny's" location is Nigeria. There are no US Navy personnel in Nigeria, unless they happen to be at the US Embassy, and his dependents would not be accompanying him there. Of course it is possible this is a different Danny Welderlock.

I also found a brief profile on Friendster.

Through the resources I have access to, he has no other footprint. No stateside addresses, no utilities in Florida or any other state, no past, no present. In the industry I've worked, the conclusion would be he does not actually exist. This is by all appearances a scam. From the look of it, I suspect whomever Danny is, he is attempting to con some young Filipino girl to come to the states or elsewhere.
