Wester Field did not make guns, they sold guns manufactured by Marlin, Winchester, Hi Standard, and others through the 1970's.
I have and old Western Field 20 ga deer gun and it's designed just like my new Mossberg 500 12 ga. The safety on both guns are on the top and the pump action is very similar. Savage and Stevens depending on when and who they were made for. By far the most Western Field models were made by Mossberg with Stevens/Savage a distant second. There are also several by Marlin and Nobel, a couple of Colts, at least one Remington and a Kessler in the Blue Book's store-brand list.
