Because "Protestant" refers to anything that is not Catholic, there are many braches of Protestantism, many of which I wouldn't consider Christian in nature. Each branch is often named for the person who founded it: the Lutheran church was founded by Martin Luther, the Calvinist church was founded by John Calvin, and so on. If you are looking for a specific denomination, it might be good to look that one up online specifically.
The different components of the bureaucracy in the Federal government's executive branch was developed by George Washington. The Constitution contains an intricate system of checks and balances in which each branch has not only different responsibilities but each officer of the legislative, executive and judicial branches has different terms of office and differing selection methods. In this way they check each other. Congress makes law and controls the money, the President executes the law and the Supreme Ct. interprets the law. Christianity is the religion with three major denominations: Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant. In each of these, there are literally thousands of sects.
Judaism started in Canaan but it is present day Israel. Hinduism started in India. Buddhism started in India also. Christianity started in Israel. Islam started in Mecca.
Protestantism is one of three major divisions of Christianity; the other two being Roman Catholicism and Orthodox (Eastern) Christianity. They are all the same religion. Within Protestantism, there are many denominations: Anglican/Episcopalian, Calvinist, Congregational, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian and Reformed are the largest. The degree and criteria by which each denomination considers itself, or is considered by others, to be "Protestant" is a long-standing subject of debate. In any case, they are all denominations within the Christian religion and are not related to other religions. Of course, Christianity, as a whole, is fundamentally related to Judaism, but that does not seem to be the focus of your question.
Different churches tend to belong to different branches, each emphasising a slightly different ethos. The church itself is "The bride of Christ", so all of Christianity is a world-wide church.
Catholicism is the primary religion in Paris, France, making up about 65% of the population, though only about 10% practice their faith. The SECOND would be Protestantism, followed by Islam and Judaism (which only comprise about 1% of the population each). Techincally, Catholicism and Protestantism are merely different denominations of Christianity, not separate religions. Therefore, Christianity is the first largest religion in Paris, France, and Islam and Judaism would be about tied for second.
Abraham was responsible for each of Judaism, Christianity and Islam; Buddhism was started by Siddharta Gautama; Hinduism was begun in Iron-Age India; many other religions have arisen from traditional roots in their respective culture.
