I did my homework. The people behind the 911 attacks are exactly who the US government says are behind it. The animosity and hatred toward Americans by certain factions of the Muslim world have been brewing since the US sided with and supported Israel following the end of World War 2. Over the years, the animosity has grown for the most part because of Israel's treatment of Palestinians in their own country; treatment as second class citizens and the US favoritism toward Israel.

Do not mistake the actions of the groups responsible for 911 as representative of the Muslim world as a whole. Even the US has dangerous groups of their own religious and militant zealots that would love to succeed in attacking the US government. It must also be kept in mind that the attack on the US is not the only target of the extremists. Attacks on a smaller scale have taken place all over Europe such as the plane that exploded over Lockerbie Scotland, the seizure of the Russian theater, and bombings in major cities of Europe, Africa, and India, just to name a few. These extremist groups, both foreign and domestic, believe that the US government is evil and that American culture should be destroyed.

1. The reason they did this was so that they could declare war on a country they cant declare war on. It was done so the American public automatically think it was terrorists from the Middle East so the public would support the war on terrorism thus allowing the U.S to declare war on the country. The reason they wanted this war so they could harvest the oil rich country Iraq.
